2008 Poetry Awards Competition Results We are pleased to announce the results of The Ledge 2008 Poetry Awards Competition: First Prize ($1,000): “A Transparent Man Is Hard to Find" by Jennifer Perrine of Des Moines, IA. Second Prize ($250): “Witness" by Elizabeth Harrington of Sleepy Hollow, NY. Third Prize ($100): “Learning to Shoot" by J. Kates of Fitzwilliam, NH. Honorable Mention: "Untitled Poem in the Essence of a Ghazal" by Jennifer Molnar of Skaneateles, NY, and " Clarity: Because I'm Not There" by Corrinne Clegg Hales of Fresno, CA. All five of these poems will be appearing in The Ledge #32, to be published next fall. We'd like to take this opportunity to thank all those poets who submitted entries to the competition, and for your patience in awaiting these results. We received a high number of impressive entries this year, and carefully considered each one.
